I thought I would do a little update on my life lately

So here is a few pictures to accompany it :D

Visiting my friends new baby. 

She was just adorable, lots of people i know have had babies this year

Making me a tad broody I must admit, but no plans for any yet haha

Spending the morning in bed with my boyfriends nieces 

watching Monsters Inc or as they affectionately call is " Rar Rar "

Making gingerbread cupcakes with golden syrup buttercream to 

take into work to celebrate my first day back in work as my new role as

a health care assistant, which so far is going very well. 

This year I decided to do an advent calendar of presents each day for my boyfriend ! 

I only have two left to get and its all done :D 

I will keep you posted on what i bought him. 

and finally late night drives to Starbucks just for an eggnog latte 

I love that my boyfriend will go for drives like this with me :D 

So thats whats been happening lately :D

Pay Day Treats - Christmas Party

Im not going to be one to constantly apologise when I miss a week blogging

but I am going to explain in the last week I have started my training

for my new role as a health care assistant

so I have been in college 9 - 5 everyday doing health & safety training

and first aid ( I am happy to say I am now a qualified first aider ! ) 

So next week I'm back to work and back to blogging :D 

Well as I am now going into a health care assistant role 

This month is my first pay day in this role ! 

Its also the first pay day in a year I will be on minimum wage !! 

Which to everyone else is standard but as I have been an apprentice for the last

year so I have been on £3.50 an hour so this month ( Tomorrow to be exact ! )

I am getting page properly :D 

Which is almost double my normal wages !! 

So as you can expect I am overly excited. 

I had been scouring the web for items to buy and keeping in mind

I have a Christmas Party next month I was looking for an outfit and this is what 

I have found ! 

Dress  - I found this on Lindy Bop ! A website I am fairly new to, I haven't ordered anything

from them before but after seeing other reviews they seem to do good quality dresses ! And their prices are extremely reasonable this dress is only £34.99 !! 

 I love anything vintage looking and i think the gold and black are very christmasy ! 

Shoes - I dont do heels ! As i have the most horrendous balance ! I trip over nearly everyday in flat shoes so putting me in heels is a dangerous thing to do so I try to avoid them as best I can. So whilst looking for flats I came across these on Accessorize and thought they were perfect. The gold goes perfectly with the dress and the glitter makes it extra festive. 

Bag - The bag is also from Accessorize and I think it goes very nice with this outfit ! I hardly buy clutch bags but I think this one is very elegant. 

Lipstick - To be honest I just typed red lipstick on google and took the first picture. 

Id have to wait until closer to the time to pick one. I usually go for a darker red. I think I want red lips, smokey eyes and victory rolls in my hair :D 

Me and my boyfriend went to the same school and we didn't get a prom 

so we are treating this party as our type of prom I'm going all vintage glam

and he's going to wear a tuxedo so it should be a fun night all in all :D 

All Hallows Eve

 So last night was Halloween, 

and  I celebrated by dressing up and going into town ( Liverpool )

with my boyfriend. 

After hours of painstakingly trying to decide on a couples costume

We finally decided to go as Walter White from Breaking Bad 

and I dressed in all blue and lots of glitter and went as Blue Meth. 

We started our night in Camp & Furnace a type of warehouse venue 

they had a tattoo artist, food stalls and face painting it was pretty cool 

but not as lively as we had hoped

So we then moved on to a tequila bar and then ended up in the Krazyhouse 

I must say I love Halloween in town everyone 

puts so much effort into all the costumes !

With Halloween fast approaching and my recent wages burning a hole in my pocket

I just couldn't resist buying this skeleton heart dress ! 

They actually had this dress in their regular range as well as maternity, tall and curve. 

I usually wear an 18 or 20 but both where sold out so this is a 

14 from the maternity range as i figured the sizing would balance out

and it does this fits great !

I think sometimes people get hung up about shopping in the section they are used to 

but i think it pays to check out all of the womenswear sections and even the mens 

I have quite a few pieces of clothing from the mens section in my wardrobe. 

And for anyone on the smaller side it can be quite advantages to look in the kids section
My boyfriends sister gets clothes from the River Island kids section
their stuff is lovely and it works out cheaper as well.

I wore the dress with my American Apparel leggings which i got in America
last year in a discount store. I real love these leggings and always plan on buying another pair
but they are quite pricey in the UK.

I teamed these with my favourite Dr Martens !
I literally bid on different pairs of these Dr Martens for over 2 years
before i won a pair and got them for under £100.
They seem to be quite rare
I absolutely love them.

I also got my hair done since my last post !
I got it ombre'd by my boyfriends sister.
I really love it.
I tend to change my hair a lot but this has got to be one of my favourites so far.

Launa Bakes - Pancakes :)

Work has been super crazy this week ! 

With people calling in sick and patients just being over demanding ! 

I have meant to blog more but just haven't had the chance

between the headaches and the overtime. 

But ... 

I did get the chance to make my favourite thing for breakfast one morning 

Pancakes :D 

Here is my recipe for the perfect Pancake ! 

You will need ..

1 cup of self raising flour

1/2 tsp of salt

2 tbsp of caster sugar

130ml of milk

1 egg

2 tbsp melted butter 

Butter or oil to grease the pan

Smarties & Milky way buttons ( optional but delicious ! ) 

Instructions .. 

1. Combine flour, salt, sugar, milk and egg and mix thoroughly until batter like.

2. then stir in the melted butter

3. Add some oil or butter to a hot pan ( i use butter ). 

4. Pour on pancake mix and reduce heat to medium. 

5. I then add smarties or milky buttons :) you could also use chocolate chips mmmm

6. I judge my pancakes ready to flip when it starts to bubble. 

7. Cook thoroughly on both sides. 

8. Tuck in :D 

This recipe usually makes me 4 - 5 largish pancakes but would probably make 7 medium to small

OOTD - Stripes and School Girl Shoes

Lately I have been craving a stripy top ! 

So on Thursday whilst in town meeting for lunch with my friend Lauren

We ducked into Primark to get out of the rain and I just couldn't help myself but

pick up some bits ! 

Along with the top I bought a parker coat, the skirt on the picture and another skirt too

as well as tights because well its basically winter now and tights are just essential ! 

The only things I'm not too keen on are the neckline on this top as its slips down and 

you can see my bra strap which is a pet peeve of mine ! so I have to keep fixing it :/ 

And the fact that this skirt doesn't have a waistband. 

I felt it looked a bit odd thats why I added the belt ! 

I know in general everyone disapproves of fakes ! 

But I have wanted a Moschino belt for so long. 

I actually have a real one but it's like 4 sizes too small :( 

Thats why when I saw this belt in my size whilst I was on holiday to Turkey

I just couldnt resist. 

I also wore my favourite shiny school style shoes :) 

and my necklace which Lauren got me as part of our Halloween presents we exchange

every year but ill do a post on that nearer to the holiday :)

Things I Pin #1

Since the weekend just gone I have been pretty ill :( 

I've been hauled up in bed 

with a high temperature and no voice

watching Don't trust the bitch in apartment 23 & New Girl

eating Nutella Go and drinking copious amounts of orange Lucozade ! 

and of course spending a lot of time on Pinterest ! 

Although I have always loved Pinterest, in the last month or so I've started

using it a hell of a lot ! 

I think since I started baking on a weekly basis its become my go to for recipes :)

But it also has so much fun stuff and inspirational posts I just can't get enough. 

So I'm going to start sharing on a weekly basis some of my favourite pins :)

Cannot find the source from Pinterest

1. I have recently become obsessed with baking, I'm going to 

place the blame on the Great British Bake Off for this ! 

Damn you Mary Berry !

Thankfully Pinterest has aided my obsession with amazing recipes like

 this one ! It looks delicious and Oreos are my favourite biscuits so I will 

definitely be trying this out in the next week or two :) 

Ill post how it goes. 

2. Halloween is my favourite holiday and no Halloween is truly complete without a 

Pumpkin !! 

The last few Halloweens due to unfortunate circumstances I have missed out 

on going out or pumpkin carving so this year I am determined to make up for this !! 

and my inner geek just loved all these pumpkins ! 

especially the death star :)

3. Im considering adding a little ombre to my hair ! 

not the wildest thing I've done to my hair in the last few years

but my current work would not approve of a pink pixie cut ( sigh :/ ) 

So this picture is how I want to go I think because my hair

is roughly this length :)

4. After adding a rather large tattoo to my forearm in the last few months I am

deciding wether I am going to make my right arm a sleeve or not. 

Its theme is my favourite movies and books. 

And Nightmare Before Christmas is definitely one of my all time favourite films ! 

So Im considering getting a deadly nightshade jar somewhere on my arm :) 

So thats what I have been pinning this week :)
